The Atletico Goalkeepers Advanced Outdoor Program is a specialized, high-performance training environment created for U13 and older goalkeepers who already have previous goalkeeping experience and are ready to continue progressing in a more demanding and game-realistic setting.
This program is designed for players who have already developed a foundational understanding of the position, either through prior goalkeeper training or by completing the initial stage of our goalkeeper development pathway. Sessions are built to challenge players technically, tactically, physically, and mentally — with a strong emphasis on performance in realistic outdoor match situations.
Our objective is to develop complete goalkeepers — players who not only make saves, but also understand space, organize the back line, make confident decisions under pressure, and influence the game with composure and leadership.
Outdoor training provides the ideal environment to expose goalkeepers to the real demands of the position, including larger spaces, longer distributions, transition moments, breakaways, crosses, and decision-making under pressure.
Key Performance Areas
🧤 Positioning and angle management in realistic game situations
🧤 Advanced handling, footwork, and distribution (short, medium, and long range)
🧤 Diving technique, recovery mechanics, and explosive movement
🧤 1v1 situations, breakaways, and pressure-based decision-making
🧤 Communication, leadership, and reading the flow of the game
🧤 Tactical understanding of space, line management, and defensive support
Training sessions frequently include game-based exercises and realistic scenarios, allowing goalkeepers to apply their technique in competitive contexts that reflect the speed and complexity of real match play.
Led by experienced goalkeeper coaches, this program provides individualized feedback within a challenging but supportive environment, helping players continue to sharpen their technical quality, confidence, presence, and overall effectiveness in goal.
The Goalkeepers Advanced Program is ideal for goalkeepers looking for a serious supplemental training environment to continue developing beyond team sessions and take the next step in their long-term progression.
Important Note
All players registered in this program will be evaluated by the Goalkeeper Coach during the first week of training.
This assessment helps determine whether the player is currently prepared for the Advanced level, or if it would be more beneficial for their development to begin in the previous goalkeeper development stage first.
Our priority is to place every goalkeeper in the training environment that best supports their growth, confidence, and long-term success.
