The U11 Boys Outdoor Program targets what is widely recognized as the β€œGolden Age of Learning” β€” a stage where players are highly receptive and every element introduced has a direct and lasting impact on their understanding of the game.

While this is not yet a specialization phase, it is a period that demands careful attention to detail. Every task, rule, and game situation is intentionally designed to provide players with real, game-relevant tools that objectively influence their performance and decision-making on the field.

The program emphasizes game creation and intelligent participation, encouraging players to experience the reality of the game in a more thoughtful and purposeful way, closely aligned with competitive demands β€” without losing the joy of play.

Development at this stage is structured around four key pillars:

  • Social: communication, leadership, collaboration, and accountability within the team

  • Technical: confident execution under pressure and efficient use of technique as a game tool

  • Tactical: understanding space, time, positioning, and relationships between teammates and opponents

  • Physical-Motor: coordination, agility, strength development, and movement efficiency to support game actions

Within our methodology, we apply Neuro Soccer strategies as a key developmental tool β€” using cognitive challenges, perception-action tasks, and decision-making constraints to help players think faster, read the game more effectively, and execute with greater precision.

Training sessions make extensive use of conditioned small-sided games, where rules, space, and numerical situations are adapted to stimulate specific tactical and cognitive behaviors. These environments encourage players to communicate, manage space intelligently, and actively influence the game.

A strong emphasis is also placed on the mechanics of movement, ensuring players develop efficient running patterns, changes of direction, balance, and body control that directly translate into improved on-field performance.

Players are consistently challenged to explore and experiment both with and without the ball, in an environment that promotes creativity, confidence, and adaptability. All of this takes place within a framework of constant enjoyment, engagement, and growth.

At Atletico, we don’t just train players to execute actions β€” we develop players who understand the game, influence it, and enjoy the process of becoming better every day
